Benedictine High School Launches Innovative Pathways Curriculum Supported by the Beacon Program and Heroic Partnership

FIRST HIGH SCHOOL IN NATION TO PARTNER WITH HEROIC!

Cleveland, OH – September 23, 2024 – Benedictine High School is proud to announce the rollout of the Benedictine Pathways program as a cornerstone of our revised educational curriculum. This innovative initiative is designed to provide students with a comprehensive and personalized learning experience that aligns with their academic interests and career aspirations. Through experiential learning, new technologies and 1:1 guidance, Pathways is designed to develop a students’ character,  knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the modern world. This innovative program is supported by the newly introduced Beacon Program (Before. Between. Beyond.) and is further enhanced by a strategic partnership with the Heroic Public Benefit Corporation (PBC).

Benedictine recognizes that life skills are essential to success no matter what pathway a student chooses to take on their way to becoming a Man of Benedictine. The Pathways curriculum is a dynamic, student-centered approach that integrates academic excellence with personal development. By offering tailored educational experiences, students are empowered to explore their passions, develop critical thinking skills, and prepare for future success in life.

The Pathways curriculum is under the umbrella of the Beacon Program, an initiative that provides complete wrap-around support for students and alumni. The Beacon Program focuses on three phases of a student’s journey: Before. Between. Beyond. The initiative’s goal is to prepare students for success Before they enter Benedictine, help students navigate high school Between their four years as students, and plan for the future Beyond as Men of Benedictine in a supportive community.

The Heroic app, designed by philosopher and CEO Brian Johnson, is a cutting-edge platform focused on optimizing personal growth, well-being, and performance. Heroic is considered to be the best self-development platform in the world and has worked with partners like Notre Dame Football, The United States Military Academy and the Chicago Bulls. Benedictine is the first high school in the nation to integrate this transformative tool into its curriculum as a way to help students build resilience, set goals, and cultivate positive habits. Through this partnership, Benedictine High School students will gain exclusive access to the app’s comprehensive resources, enabling them to build strong character, enhance mental resilience, and cultivate positive habits aligned with their individual goals.

“We are thrilled to launch the Pathways curriculum, supported by the Beacon Program and our partnership with Heroic,” said David Schroeder, President of Benedictine High School. “This initiative is a testament to our commitment to providing a holistic education that prepares our students not only academically but also personally and professionally for the challenges of life. The Heroic partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to develop young men who are academically prepared and equipped with the tools and mindset to lead fulfilling, purpose-driven lives. At its essence, the Heroic app is a modern version of the rule of St. Benedict distilled into daily actions.”

Jason Viyar, Heroic coach, expressed his excitement about the partnership: “Benedictine High School’s commitment to excellence and its forward-thinking approach to education make it an ideal partner for Heroic. We are excited to see how the students will use the app to become the best versions of themselves.”

Benedictine High School invites parents, alumni, and the community to learn more about the Pathways curriculum and the opportunities it offers for the next generation of leaders.
