Our High School Placement Test (HSPT) prep classes help eighth graders master test strategies, build confidence, and maximize their scores for Catholic high school admissions. Led by experienced instructors, these targeted sessions review essential math, verbal, and reading skills while teaching critical time-management techniques.
Class Schedules and Pricing
Choose from two upcoming fall sessions held on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM:
- HSPT Prep I: September 19, September 26, and October 3
- HSPT Prep II: October 24, October 31, and November 7
Registration Rates:
- Class Only: $105 per session
- Class & Test Bundle: $125 (Includes the official exam on October 10 for Prep I, or November 12 for Prep II)

HSPT - HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT TEST
HSPT – The High School Placement Test is a standardized, multiple-choice exam that measures academic abilities on a national scale. It includes five subsections:
- Verbal Skills: Assesses a student's vocabulary understanding.
- Quantitative Skills: Assesses problem-solving abilities involving numbers and calculations.
- Reading: Assesses comprehension and analysis of texts, as well as critical thinking.
- Mathematics: Similar to quantitative skills, assesses understanding of mathematical concepts and principles.
- Language: Assesses understanding of grammar, writing mechanics, and language usage.
TEST ACCOMMODATIONS
If your son has an IEP or 504 plan qualifying him for test accommodations, such as extended time, please submit a copy of this documentation at least one week in advance. Send to admissions@cbhs.edu
- The test is open to seventh and eighth-grade boys or girls, and students can repeat testing as needed at Benedictine High School.
- Pencils are provided.
- The test takes approximately three hours to complete and calculators are not permitted.
- The test fee is $20-registration is required.
2026 Testing Dates: October 10, November 11, December 5
Test results, in addition to grades and teacher recommendations, are considered in admission decisions and future course placement. High scores on the test can also qualify students for merit scholarships.
