COUNTDOWN TO YOUR FIRST DAY
Freshman Checklist
- RSVP HERE for Invite Back Night on 2/13/25
- Pay Your Enrollment Fee By 3/7/25
- Complete the Enrollment Packet: Once your enrollment fee is paid, a link will be sent to your email
- Complete the FACTS (financial aid) application by 5/15/25
- Complete Ohio State Scholarship Paperwork. In order to receive financial assistance from BHS, the state scholarship application, your son's birth certificate, and utility bill must be submitted to our business office
- Submit Final Forms for Athletics (medical, physicals, etc.)
- Contact your son's grade school and have them send over his final transcript/official records after graduation
- Complete Transportation Contract (if needed)
- Attend Summer Bridge Program - All are welcome to attend. This is REQUIRED for students who were conditionally accepted
- Complete Summer Reading and Math assignments (Available June 2025)

When will I receive my freshman class schedule?
You will receive your class schedule in June. If you have specific questions about your schedule please contact Counseling.
When can I begin participation in extra-curriculars?
Once the enrollment fee is paid your student may begin participation in extra-curriculars.
What is the dress code? Are there ever dress down days?
Dress code for the 2025/26 school year will be school issued polo with khaki’s or dress pants.
There are occasional dress down days approved by leadership. During school approved dress down days the following are permitted: school-appropriate attire, including jeans or athletic pants, tennis shoes, hoodies, and athletic shorts.
Where can I find information about breakfast and lunch offerings?

What are the best ways to communicate with teachers and staff?
Each teacher or staff member may have their own preferred method of communication. You can easily find contact information in our faculty & staff directory.
What clubs, sports, or extracurriculars are available?
Benedictine has 12 varsity sports, over 30 clubs and 12 performing arts programs. Check out our pages dedicated to each extracurricular activty to learn more.
Where do I turn in my immunizations?

Where can I find the school supply list?
The 25/26 school supply list will be posted to the website soon. Our current supply list gives you a general idea but some teachers may also have their own requirements for supplies which they will communicate in class.

Are there any traditions or events I should look forward to?
Benedictine High School has several long-standing traditions that reflect our values, fostering a sense of community, pride, and spiritual growth. Some of the notable traditions include:
The Benedictine Spirit: The school emphasizes the Benedictine motto of “Ora et Labora” (Pray and Work), encouraging students to engage in both academic excellence and spiritual development.
All School Masses: We gather as a community monthly for all school Mass to ask for guidance and blessings for the academic year.
- Community Service Days: Two times per year our faculty, staff, students and families gather on campus to beautify and organize our facilities.
St. Benedict Day (March 21): St. Benedict’s feast day is observed by the monks on March 21, the traditional day of his death. This is traditionally a day off from school for our community.
Retreats: Students participate in retreats that focus on reflection, personal growth, and preparation for life beyond high school. These retreats are important milestones in students’ spiritual development.
Mr. Benedictine: Each year a graduating Senior is selected by his peers as the embodiment of what it means to be a Man of Benedictine.
Homecoming: Benedictine High School has a traditional homecoming event that celebrates the school’s history and unity, featuring a football game, a dance, and other events that bring the alumni and current students together.
The Junior Ring Ceremony: Juniors receive their class rings in a formal ceremony, symbolizing their commitment to the school and marking their journey toward graduation.
- Service Projects and Community Outreach: Rooted in Benedictine values, students regularly participate in community service projects, fostering a sense of responsibility and compassion for others.
Annual Fundraisers: Various fundraisers and events, like the annual Blue & White Gala, bring together students, families, and alumni to support the school’s mission and programs.
- National Honor Society Induction: This ceremony is a formal event that celebrates students who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. During the ceremony, inductees are recognized for their achievements, take the NHS pledge, and light candles symbolizing the core values of the organization. It’s a proud moment that highlights their commitment to academic success and making a positive impact on their school and community.
These traditions play a key role in building camaraderie, preserving the school’s values, and creating a strong sense of belonging among students, faculty, and alumni.
