Benedictine High School Announces Transformational $1 Million Gift from TransDigm Group Inc. in Support of Centennial Campaign

CLEVELAND, OHIO — Benedictine High School proudly announces a transformational $1 million gift from TransDigm Group Inc. in support of the school’s historic 100-year, $25M comprehensive campaign, BHS100! A Century of Tradition | A Future of Innovation.

The investment represents one of the most significant corporate gifts in the school’s recent history. It will directly support institutional scholarships while also funding critical capital investments within Benedictine’s new Student Experience Center, including the construction of a state-of-the-art Makerspace focused on innovation, experiential learning, and workforce development.

“We are incredibly grateful to TransDigm Group Inc. for this transformative leadership gift and for its belief in the mission and future of Benedictine High School. This investment provides tremendous momentum for our BHS100! Campaign and accelerates our vision of creating innovative, hands-on learning environments that prepare students to thrive in a rapidly evolving world while remaining grounded in the Benedictine values that have defined our school for nearly 100 years,” said Dave Schroeder ’90, President, Benedictine High School.

As Benedictine High School approaches its centennial celebration, the comprehensive campaign seeks to honor the school’s rich educational tradition while boldly investing in the future of Catholic education and student development. The campaign focuses on expanding access through scholarships and general operations, enhancing campus facilities, creating innovative learning environments and differentiated programming, and growing the school’s endowment.

Headquartered in Cleveland, TransDigm is a leading global designer, producer, and supplier of engineered aerospace components used on nearly all commercial and military aircraft platforms worldwide. The company’s mission-centered culture emphasizes innovation, entrepreneurial thinking, continuous improvement, and long-term value creation — values that strongly align with Benedictine’s commitment to educating young men in the Benedictine tradition of scholarship, leadership, discipline, and service.

“We have long admired Benedictine, its staff, and its students. We are very excited to play a small role in Benedictine’s investment in our community. Providing students opportunities for hands-on learning and innovative experiences is critical to developing our future leaders. The skills gained through the new Student Experience Center will provide valuable lessons that students can carry with them throughout their continued educations and future careers. TransDigm is committed to supporting educational programs and scholarships which provide opportunities for local students and future leaders,” said Michael Lisman, President & CEO, TransDigm Group Inc.

The Makerspace, Powered By: TransDigm Group Inc., located within the new Student Experience Center, will provide students with hands-on opportunities in engineering, robotics, manufacturing, design, and emerging technologies. The collaborative environment is intended to foster creativity, critical thinking, and practical skills that prepare students for success in an increasingly technology-driven workforce.
