Cleveland, Ohio — Benedictine High School is redefining the educational experience for young men through the launch of Pathways, an innovative academic initiative that empowers students to explore their passions while preparing for success in college, careers, and life.

Rather than following a one-size-fits-all educational model, Pathways allows students to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences aligned with their interests and future aspirations with concentrations in STEM, Business-Entrepreneurship, Fine & Performing Arts, and Vocations.

“Every student has unique talents and ambitions,” said President Dave Schroeder ’90. “Pathways gives our young men the opportunity to discover those strengths through intentional academic experiences that prepare them to lead, innovate, create, and serve.”

Now in our 100th year, Benedictine High School remains committed to providing a dynamic education that prepares young men for success in college, careers, and life. As higher education, the workforce, and the interests of today’s students continue to evolve, Benedictine recognizes the importance of evolving its academic experience as well. The new Pathways initiative reflects the school’s commitment to innovation by providing students with more intentional opportunities to explore their interests while maintaining the strong college-preparatory foundation that has defined a Benedictine education for nearly a century. Working alongside counselors, faculty, and their academic team, students will select a pathway that aligns with their talents, goals, and future aspirations.

Pathways builds upon the academic strengths Benedictine has long offered in STEM, Business & Entrepreneurship, and Fine Arts while introducing a new Vocations Pathway in response to the growing demand for skilled professionals and career-focused learning. Launching with electives in computer repair, media production, construction, and manufacturing, the Vocations Pathway will provide students with hands-on experiences, opportunities to earn industry-recognized credentials, and meaningful exposure to technical careers.Â

The Pathways initiative reflects Benedictine High School’s commitment to educating the whole student by combining rigorous academics with experiential learning, mentorship, and real-world application.

Whether a student dreams of becoming an engineer, launching a business, performing on stage, or entering a skilled profession, Pathways provides the academic foundation and practical experiences necessary to help him reach those goals.

“Pathways isn’t simply about choosing a career field,” said Principal Dominic Fanelli. “It’s about helping each young man discover his purpose, develop confidence, and graduate with a clear direction for the future.”
